PlantNet Plant Identification is a free mobile application that, using your phone’s camera, allows you to identify any plant and make notes about it. It works very similarly to Google Lens and even integrates seamlessly with Google Assistant.This program has been developed by scientists from the following organizations: CIRAD, INRIA, INRA, IRD and Red Tela Botánica. It is part of a project funded by the Agrópolis Foundation.
PlantNet Plant Identification has an extensive botanical database. In this sense, when taking a photo with the phone camera, the application proceeds to compare it with those stored in it. It finds their commonalities and is able to provide an accurate identification accompanied by reliable data.
It’s easy. Once you have downloaded and installed PlantNet Plant Identification on your smartphone, run the app. The device’s main camera will open automatically. Now you have to focus on the plant you want to identify. When you have done so, take the photo. You can also select one stored in the device’s gallery. It doesn’t matter.
