Clash of Clans, better known among video game lovers as CoC, is one of the most popular free strategy games ever. It was released on August 2, 2012 by Supercell for Android and iOS but, thanks to Tencent Games, it is now also available for Microsoft Windows computers using the Android emulator Tencent Gaming Buddy. This title places the user in an imaginary universe where they must build villages and create armies to fight against other players.
In Clash of Clans for Microsoft Windows you’ll have to start by choosing a place in which to set up your own settlement. You’ll start with the basics and, from there, you’ll have to collect resources to build houses, towers and other structures that will help you, on the one hand, to defend yourself from your enemies’ attacks and, on the other hand, to attack them. In this sense, you will also have to form your own army and train it for battle in a very comfortable way thanks to the specific keyboard and mouse configuration that the game developers have adapted. This can consist of enraged barbarians, archers, henchmen, witches… In addition, it is possible to equip these soldiers with cannons, bombers and many other weapons. When they attack you or you decide to be the attacker, you will be immersed in a real-time battle in which you will have to use your best strategy skills to win. If you do so, you will obtain gems and trophies from your opponent that you can use to improve your army and your village. On the other hand, if you don’t win, you will be the one who loses these valuable elements. You will also have the possibility to associate with clans of friends and join forces in a bigger and better battalion.
Clash of Clans is one of the strategy games with the most original 3D graphics of the moment. Specifically, the game is developed from an almost zenithal perspective that shows elaborate 3D maps, which have been adapted to the format of PC monitors and have been enhanced ostensibly. Clicking with the mouse on an empty piece of land will take you to the construction menu. And, if it is already built, you will see the available improvements according to your level and resources. In addition, when a battle breaks out in real time, you will see the vitality bars on the warriors’ heads and you will be able to select who you want to direct your attacks at. The lower part shows the pieces of your army that are still standing and offers the option of surrendering, while the remaining battle time is shown in the upper area.
Obviously, in Clash of Clans you have the possibility of creating your own clan from scratch and take it to the top. However, against certain rivals, this can be a handicap. In addition, unity is strength, which is why you also have the opportunity to join a clan that your friends already have. This will allow you to face battles against the Goblin King with more guarantees and plan more sophisticated battle strategies using a greater variety of troops, heroes and spells. All of this with controls adapted from mobile platforms to PC and that will even allow you to use computer controllers.
