What Is Rumble?

Rumble can be described as an ‘alt-tech’ platform, meaning that it’s a lesser-used alternative to some of the largest platforms out there like YouTube.

It was released in 2013 as a video hosting service, and although for a while it saw no traction, it has recently become an alternative for those who no longer wish to use YouTube.

In many ways, it shares the same design as YouTube, with a central home page that displays some of the top videos around.

Creators can register an account and then begin to upload videos, but they can also live stream. Rumble has a desktop version of the website but also has a mobile app.

It’s worth noting that Rumble has increased in popularity for fairly controversial reasons, and is often seen as a place for ‘canceled’ creators to go to after they are banned from YouTube.

It hosts many right-wing figures due to its conviction not to censor its users (up to a point).

This is the main reason why Rumble is getting traction as of late, as YouTube begins to crack down on misinformation and problematic content.

Rumble Mobile App Feature Overview

Rumble started as a website but has since released a mobile app that aims to make the platform more accessible to users.

Upon downloading the app you’ll be prompted to create an account, and once you do you’ll be let into the platform.

If you’ve ever used YouTube or another Video Hosting Platform before, then you’ll find that there are a lot of similarities.

The Rumble home page gives you a list of recommended channels for you to follow, as well as a long list of live and popular videos/previous live streams for you to choose from.

There is a search bar in the top left corner that allows you to search videos and channels to find something that interests you.

A unique feature of Rumble gives you a tab that lets you easily swipe through different live streams. You can think of this as similar to the ‘swiping’ system that many online dating apps use to choose potential dates.

Rumble with randomly pair you with different live streams, and this is a nice feature to discover something new. It also gives new creators a chance to broadcast their viewers and reach a wider audience.

The middle button on the Rumble interface prompts you to download ‘Rumble Camera’ which lets you start creating videos or live streams with one easy click.

This is slightly more accessible than something like YouTube, but it does require you to download another app to have functionality.

The first button on the left of your user interface is your profile portal. Here you’ll be able to see your video count, your followers, and all the profiles that you’re following.

You can edit this page and customize it to tell other users more about you. It also has a section for referrals which is the window into Rumble’s referral program.

Refer users and you’ll get a commission. This is one of the promotional features that the app is using to get new people onto the platform.

And then finally there is an option for you to look through your general account settings.

If you click on your profile circle you’ll find a lot of different settings, including referrals, subscriptions, earnings, and notification settings.

How To Download Rumble Mobile App

To download the Rumble Mobile app, all you’ll have to do is go to the Google Play Store or the iOS store and search for it.

From here, tap to download and you’ll find it installed on your mobile device in a matter of moments.

You do have to create an account to use Rumble on mobile, but they only ask for your Email, Username, Password, and date of birth.

Rumble Pros And Cons

So now we come to the part of our article where we consider the pros and cons of using the Rumble mobile app, but also the platform as a whole.

It’s been seeing some traction recently for a reason, but let’s try to figure out if Rumble is the right app for you!

Pros

• Referral Program and Paypal: Rumble has a referral program that allows you to make money by getting other users to join the platform. They also monetize videos and live streams through PayPal which is convenient and streamlined.
• Worldwide Scope: Rumble is available worldwide and is becoming more popular.
• Censorship: Rumble has a much looser policy when it comes to closing accounts than YouTube. This has led many content creators to make the switch, as there isn’t much chance of their accounts being closed for things that they say.

Cons

• Fewer Users: Rumble is not as popular as YouTube, and if you’re looking for some of the best video content on the internet you’re less likely to find it. Most of the top creators are on YouTube.
• Withdrawal: In order to withdraw any earnings from Rumble, you’ll have to wait for an entire month.

Is Rumble Worth A Download?

If you’re interested in exploring an alternative Video Hosting Service to YouTube, Rumble is a great alternative.

It’s becoming more popular so it might be worth checking out if you want to see what the hype is about.

However, it doesn’t do anything that different, so you won’t find any big surprises in its user interface or content.
