League of Legends is a popular video game belonging to the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre developed by Riot Games. If you like video games, I’m sure you’re familiar with it. League of Legends, also known as LoL or LOL, is available for free download on platforms such as Windows and Mac OS. In case you are more of a mobile gamer, you will be happy to know that there is League of Legends: Wild Rift, a slightly shortened version but with the same functionalities and features as its big brother.
League of Legends is a video game of the MOBA genre, which we could translate as Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. Along with Dota 2, Heroes of The Storm, Smite and Paladins, it has become a great reference of the genre today, accumulating tens of thousands of players simultaneously. It is one of the most addictive and fun online games for PC, since it is based on fast and frenetic confrontations that give the player no respite. Within League of Legends, there are several game modes that vary temporarily and others that are fixed. Among the fixed modes, we can currently find the classic five against five. The games bring together ten players (randomly or not, depending on the game mode chosen) divided into two teams of five that must face each other. Both teams will meet in the Summoner’s Rift, giving rise to a fight where each team must destroy the enemy Nexus to achieve the desired victory. To do so, they will have to destroy the turrets and inhibitors, structures that protect the Nexus of both teams. Another mode that is available is the Abyss of Regrets, better known as ARAM (All Random All Mid). In this mode, created by the League of Legends community itself, players face each other in the central lane of the map, where there will only be one inhibitor and four towers per team. The most peculiar thing about this mode is its randomness, giving rise to very varied games. Finally we have Teamfight Tactics (TFT), which is based on Dota Autochess. To play TFT, eight players get together and each player must buy champions that will be placed on a board made up of squares. The champions must fight each other, with the last one standing winning.
If you want to play League of Legends, you will need a computer with a Windows or Mac OS operating system. In case you do not have a PC, you have its counterpart on Android and iOS, League of Legends: Wild Rift. This is a version of League of Legends for mobile devices where we will have the same playable mechanics but in shorter games. The minimum requirements for League of Legends to run on a PC are not too high, so if you have a decent machine you will be able to play without any problems or lag.
League of Legends has a weight of about 10 GB at the time of installation on our computer. Keep in mind that it is a game that is constantly updated and therefore, you will have to have some extra space on your hard disk.
The secret to playing League of Legends well is not something we can briefly explain here, but you can follow these tips to improve as a player and win as many games as possible: Choose few champions. In League of Legends there is a wide variety of characters to choose from but don’t get excited, focus on a few to learn well how to use them. Play with bots. If you are not sure how to use certain champions or simply want to put into practice what you have learned, play in games against bots. This will help you to strengthen your tactics and improve in general as a player. Farm continuously. Dedicate yourself to defeating minions and achieving objectives on the map. All this provides gold to buy better equipment for your champion. Talk to your colleagues. In the end, communication is the key. The more you get along as a team, the better you will play. And most important of all: enjoy the game at all times. In the end, if we play, it’s for fun and it’s not worth having an unnecessary hard time. If you see that you still need to learn as a player, don’t demand too much of yourself. As in everything, the time you invest playing will make you improve little by little and you will be able to assimilate correctly the concepts of League of Legends.
League of Legends has become a fundamental pillar of online gaming. Today, thousands of players and spectators gather on platforms such as Twitch or Youtube to enjoy this contemporary classic that sweeps wherever it goes and it is no wonder. Its great accessibility means that many people can enjoy this video game, creating a large community around it. And speaking of communities, that’s one of its biggest weaknesses. League of Legends has earned a very bad reputation for its toxic community of players, preventing many from enjoying this game properly. Much has been said about the addiction it can generate and even if it is true, it is still a pretty good game, offering very fun and interesting game modes.
