Microsoft teams is one of the ultimate applications for messaging and video conferencing/ making calls for businesses.
It is a workspace available for real-time communication and collaborations, as well as file/app sharing and meetings, sometimes even emojis and humor.
It is all kept in one neat, easily accessible place, suitable for everyone.
While it is not just used for businesses, it is often used for business purposes. However, it also has uses in many other aspects of life.
If you need to have a video call or group chat, it can be the ideal way to manage communications.
Having a good team space is important in making good creative decisions. Having a shared workspace software makes this easier, especially if there are remote employees or many team members.
This is what really makes it stand out from the crowd:
Channels/ Teams: Teams will be built up of channels, these are conversation boards between different teammates.
Conversations: All members are able to view and contribute to conversations inside a generalized channel. You can also use the @ button to invite members to conversations, similar to Slack.
Chat: You can use the chat function to talk to groups, teams, and individual people.
Document storage: Each team who uses Teams has a site inside SharePoint Online. This contains default document libraries. From this all files which have been shared across all conversations will save to this location.
Online calls/ Screen Share: You can enjoy fast and easy video calling on this platform. You could also have fast sharing of your desktop should you need technical assistance, or a multi-user real-time communication.
Meetings: Having this feature enhances your communication abilities, as well as introduces the ability to have company meetings, or even training. These meetings can hold up to 10,000 users, so it is useful even for massive companies. It can include internal business members and others. The meeting feature also has note-taking applications, in-meeting chats, file uploading, and scheduling aids.
Conferencing: You will not find this in similar platforms. When you audio conference, anyone can join in via phone. You can have a dial in number which can span across endless cities, and people can even take part if they have no internet. However, you do need extra licensing for this.
Telephony: Microsoft Teams can actually totally replace your company’s phone system, you do not even need additional licensing for this!
Businesses should make use of Microsoft Teams as it is very user friendly, and it facilitates work environments between different remote workers inside of a large business.
It aids in productions, projects and other elements of businesses.
For those who use Skype for business, the Microsoft Teams client is easy to use in replacement of Skype. The remaining functionality will remain the same.
Apps all together in one place: Teams does provide everything that you need for conferencing, messaging, sharing files, all in one place, regardless of the size of your business. You could combine Slack and Zoom in one place for business, since they are great respectively, but Teams does both all at once, and it does it well. There is little else that conferencing tools do that Teams cannot also do.
Integrations: Teams does play very well with the whole ecosystem of Microsoft, and it can synchronize well with endless Microsoft and non-Microsoft products that you may use for business running purposes on a daily basis.
Conferencing: It is not just good for conferencing via video, offering everything you would like and expect from a fully matured product, you can even add in customizable visual backgrounds, share your screen, whiteboards, and even hand raising, and even pinning participants to your main view. You can preview before you join calls and use dark mode to reduce strain on your eyes.
Reliable: The app is powerful and does not consume much data, with great quality audio and visuals. It will run on every operating system. It can even stand good ground on a low quality network connection.
Focused chat: Its instant chat features are one of the best available. It has email styled threaded conversations, with a powerful search and integrated skype features. You can create groups, channels, and categorize your conversations too.
We cannot say that Microsoft Teams is the best of the best, but it is not half bad. Depending on how your business functions it may be better for you than Slack, Zoom, or Skype. But, it is not everyone’s first choice.
There is plenty good about it though, and it definitely has a lot going for it.
