Android Auto is an application that will give you the ability to operate the main control panel of your car from your smartphone or tablet. This will allow you to use an endless number of available and compatible applications. It is similar to Waze, but its catalog of tools is much more varied.
Android Auto was announced in early 2014. At that time, Google already had a partnership agreement with 28 vehicle manufacturers. We are talking, for example, about BMW, Audi, Ford or Kia. It was launched in March 2015 and, by the following year, it already enjoyed an almost total implementation. Therefore, it can be said that Android Auto is compatible with almost all vehicles launched on the market since 2016. It can also be run on all smartphones with Android operating system version 5.0 Lollipop or higher.
The process is simpler than the one needed to use DiDi Conductor, for example. To do so, you will need to connect a USB-USB Mini or USB Type-C cable (depending on your smartphone) to the car’s control panel. Then, download the app, run it and both devices will be automatically paired.
Thanks to Android Auto you can get the most out of your car’s control panel. With this simple app you will enjoy direct access to Google Play Music, Google Maps and many other external applications. You can even use Google Assistant and give commands to your car using voice commands.
