Xbox is an application where we can download games belonging to the Xbox Game Pass or other titles that we have purchased separately in the Microsoft Store (such as Gears of War, Halo or Doom Eternal). This software is only available for Windows 10, but we can enjoy its mobile counterpart on Android and iOs, with functions similar to those seen in the computer version. With Xbox for PC, we will have access to the titles we have previously purchased with our Microsoft account and play them on PC, although you can also do it on console if you already owned one (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X).
Xbox for PC is a program that gives us access to Microsoft’s game store (Microsoft Store) and is also where we can manage our Game Pass, in case we have contracted the service in some of its different modalities. Within the application we have different sections which are Game Pass, Social and Store (the game store). Game Pass is a service offered by Microsoft where we can download more than 100 video games such as the acclaimed Halo, the frenetic Doom Eternal, the artistic Ori (the two installments) or the popular Age of Empires saga, at no additional cost. This service works through a paid monthly subscription and there are different plans, with different prices and functionalities. Game Pass is also accessible on Xbox consoles, being a great option for those who want to play many titles without spending too much money in the process. In the Social section we will be able to see the friends we have added to the platform and interact with them, either through messages or calls. Xbox gives us the possibility to link our Steam or Facebook accounts to see which of our acquaintances have an Xbox account and thus enjoy the online game. Xbox also gives us the possibility to follow accounts of relevant people, see what they play and what titles they have recently tried. In addition we will be able to consult our achievements and those of our friends, to compare our feats with the rest. From the application we will have access to the Microsoft Rewards section, a system that rewards you with points according to the actions you perform. These points are cumulative and can be used to redeem entries in sweepstakes, months of Game Pass subscription and discounts in different stores that have collaboration with Microsoft. Finally we have the Microsoft Store, which is the video game store belonging to Microsoft. Within the Store we can buy many titles to play on console (Xbox) or computer, being very similar in operation to other stores like Epic Store or Steam.
Installing Xbox on your computer is extremely simple. To do this, we only have to go to the download button on this page and download the program. Once done, we open the file as we would do with any other executable and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. When finished, you will have installed Xbox on your PC. Thanks to the symbiosis it has with Windows 10, Xbox will install very fast and you will hardly notice it is running. Remember that for most games we will need a computer with good hardware, so check the characteristics of your PC before installing anything.
In recent years, Microsoft has managed to win the hearts of gamers thanks to Xbox and its Game Pass. Xbox innovates every year, proposing new strategies to bring video games to all audiences, such as Xbox Cloud Gaming, where we can enjoy triple A games from the comfort of our smartphone (and also available from the bar of web browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, soon to be added to Xbox consoles). With the Xbox application for Windows 10 the same thing happens: its installation is not heavy and it complements perfectly with our computer. Thanks to Xbox, we will have no excuse not to play, as it puts all kinds of facilities at our fingertips and without having to spend large amounts of money.
